Mayuri Ramdasi- The Miracle Lady In the field of Speech & Language Therapy.
September 2020, Mumbai: “On the commencement of my career, I never thought that a certain speech and communication disorder would ever be something more than just a disorder to me. Now, 18 years after, I have devoted my entire self towards curing and enriching the lives of not only the children with autism but their families and especially...their mothers,” quotes the consultant speech & language therapist, as also the founder of ARULA for Autism; Mayuri Ramdasi.
In this age, the internet offers wide variety of therapeutic options for the treatment of Autism. Ranging from all sorts of therapies like anger management, family therapy, behaviour therapy, animal-assisted therapy and what not! The list goes on, it’s almost never-ending. And for parents with a recently diagnosed Autistic baby, isn’t this potpourri full of all sorts of therapies quite confusing? And on top of it all, the baby who has been recently diagnosed with autism...What about him/her? Who knows for sure what is going to help in curing that child totally? The options for the treatment of Autism are endless in the market. But, as Mayuri Ramdasi quotes, “The precious time of every parent and their child with autism isn’t. Every child diagnosed with autism needs the most immediate and most effective therapy. And this is what; ARULA for Autism has to offer.”
ARULA for Autism has the most unique and idiosyncratic approach. Not only this, but what ARULA for Autism strives to bestow upon everyone who goes for it, is by far the easiest and most convenient mode of therapy for children diagnosed with autism. To keep the long story short, ARULA for Autism is totally based on a distinctive mother-centred and child-directed approach. And while elucidating this very concept, Mayuri Ramdasi shares- “In my journey so far, I was introduced to problems faced not only by an autistic child but also by his/her guardians, parents and especially by his/her mother. After thorough research and experience in the field, I have come to a conclusion that in order to treat autism from its very roots, our prime focus shouldn’t be the host, that is the autistic child but instead, his mother.” And thus, ARULA for Autism has one ultimate goal: (Mothers,) Be your child’s own therapist.
Not only has this mother-centred and child-directed approach succeeded immensely in harvesting some of the never-seen-before changes in children with autism; but it has gone a long way ahead in improving and facilitating the mental health of all those mothers having an autistic child. Now, these mothers from different nooks of the globe come forward to share their testimonials on how their relationship with their children in terms of communication and mother-child bonding has prospered with the help of ARULA for Autism. L. George, a mother of a girl with autism and based off from the United Kingdom, in her testimonial, shares that the activities given by Mayuri Ramdasi are fun to practise.
Another parent, M. Gayakwad, while spectating the changes in his son, says that- “After trying everywhere for almost three years fortunately I came to know about Mayuri Ramdasi and since then, that is, in almost nine months I have seen lot of positive changes in my son.”
Addressing the mother-centred approach that Mayuri Ramdasi has adopted while devising ARULA for Autism; Prajakta Kadam, mother of the child who was diagnosed with autism, highlights that- “He (Her son) was two and a half years old when we (She and her family) realized that there were some concerns regarding his speech as his vocabulary was very less for a two-and-a-half-year-old kid. The most important aspect for which I decided to go ahead with Mayuri Ramdasi’s therapy was the fact that she believed in, and practised the mother-centred approach for addressing the speech issue of my child All the sessions for my child were done with only me and that was very beneficial and the right way to approach the problem, as it helped us to address his speech concerns in a right and focused way. And also as a mother, helped me to build a very strong bond with my child on all the fronts. Mayuri Ramdasi is a very dedicated therapist who is passionate about her work and desires to help children to address their concerns through their mothers. Her objective on focusing on the overall development of the child really helps you in long run and you can clearly start seeing the progress and the positive changes in your child. She strongly supports and believes in providing the right guidance to mothers, helping them with the right tools to work with their children with, and assisting them to understand the behavioural aspect of their children in totality; which in turn, as parents, helps us to work constructively with our children.”
Being a member of ARULA for Autism’s Success Stories, Shivansh Saxena, a boy diagnosed with autism- was a completely nonverbal four year old child. Before going for ARULA for Autism, he was extremely hyperactive with no consistent eye-contact and zero social communication. In the first 7 weeks of implementation of ARULA for Autism Program, there were certain spectacularly positive changes noticed in Shivansh’s behaviour. To name a few, there was a drastic reduction in his hyperactivity; there were quite some improvements in his eye contact, as well as in the understanding of language spoken to him in terms of commands and recognition of various household objects, along with his parental bonding as also in the free expression of emotions.
Indeed, Mayuri Ramdasi proves to be The Miracle Lady in the field of speech and language therapy. Parents who hadn’t seen any progress in their child for three years while acquiring therapies at ‘n’ number of places had witnessed fruitful results in their child within just nine months of therapy endorsed by Mayuri Ramdasi. Mayuri Ramdasi has her faith completely stored in the belief that there’s no such case of autism which a mother, with right and essential guidance, can’t treat. Mayuri Ramdasi works on encouraging the mothers to develop a successful bond with their children by boosting their confidence and motivation levels. The outcomes of this unique mother-centred and child-directed approach are just overwhelming. And this is what makes Mayuri Ramdasi- The Miracle Lady (In the field of speech and language therapy).
